F&M Trust today announced donations to a pair of Cumberland County human services organizations as part of its ongoing COVID-19 relief efforts.
The bank contributed $10,000 to Project SHARE and $5,000 to Community Cares to assist their programs in Carlisle and neighboring communities.

“As a result of the pandemic, the last 18 months have been very difficult for many people who live in our communities. Some find themselves hungry or seeking shelter, and looking for assistance,” said Tim Henry, President and CEO of F&M Trust. “Project SHARE and Community Cares provide for these residents in a variety of ways. F&M Trust is pleased to contribute to these organizations and the work they are doing to assist those who are in need.”
Project SHARE operates a food pantry that distributes nutritious items four days each month to qualifying families in the Carlisle area. The organization also provides food to about 65 home-bound clients.
“During 2020-21, Project SHARE has been challenged to change operations to meet the needs of our clients. Along the way, we have adopted various methods of reaching out to the communities we serve as we deliver on our vision of nourishing our community,” Project SHARE Executive Director Robert Weed said. “F&M Trust’s generous donation will help us realize this calling as we launch new initiatives through our mobile Farmstand and in-person client Your Choice distribution model.”

Community Cares offers shelter year-round to dozens of homeless guests each night at churches throughout Cumberland County. The organization also engages, assesses, and assists those living on the streets, in encampments, and/or at the risk of experiencing homelessness.
“We are in the process of transitioning to two permanent sites where we can shelter up to 40 singles and seven families. Before, the most we could shelter was three or four families,” Community Cares Executive Director Beth Kempf said. “F&M Trust’s donation will help us provide a safer environment to shelter people while they get on their feet.”
